Netherlands-based Koffiebranderij Zuivere Koffie, which boasts the particular claim of being the only organic coffee brand in the world roasted in a prison, has unveiled its new packaging.
For the secondary pack, the brand opted for paperboard supplier Metsä Board’s Classic FBB 290 g/m2 board with its “superior stiffness”. To emphasis the tattoo-style graphic artwork printed on the uncoated side and create a tactile effect, a thickening bubble spot UV varnish was used.
Packaging converter Remmert Dekker Packaging highlighed the challenge of applying the varnish on uncoated board, particularly on the creases. The board, which can be recycled after use, was printed with environmentally friendly inks.
