American bourbon whisky brand Woodford Reserve teamed up with French crystal maker Baccarat to launch the Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition, cognac-finished bourbon housed in a bespoke decanter.
The handmade crystal decanter, designed to evoke the iconic silhouette of the Woodford Reserve bottle, is engraved in gold with the logos of both Baccarat and Woodford Reserve and is topped with a crystal stopper featuring the latter’s initials.
The decanter comes in a rigid box coffret (GPA Luxury) in Baccarat’s signature red and white, fronted with double doors that are held closed by concealed magnets. White, textured satin silk lines the inside of the coffret, which houses the bottle, the crystal stopper that replaces the gold cork cap used for transit, and a certificate placed in a cavity within one of the doors.
The concealed EVA fitment that secures the bottle is surrounded by a base wrapped in custom-dyed imitation-leather red paper that is embossed and hot-stamped gold. The same imitation-leather paper sheathes the coffret’s exterior; a rigid board plaque silkscreened in pearl-white ink with Woodford Reserve branding is affixed to the doors.
For this Baccarat Edition, Woodford Reserve Bourbon was aged an additional three years in French XO cognac casks. It retails at $2,000 a bottle and is launching in November.
