Nearly three years after Italian closures specialist Enoplastic acquired French group Sparflex, the manufacturer has revealed a new name and brand identity. With annual turnover of more than €300m, the new entity, Crealis, has a portfolio of eight companies serving the wine, spirits, beer, oil, vinegar and home fragrance markets with 15 production sites across six countries.
A new name on the closures solutions market, Crealis is comprised of eight manufacturers, the bulk of which come from the acquisition of Sparflex, manufacturer of foils, wirehoods, capsules and labels by Italian closures specialists Enoplastic in 2020. The new entity was conceived to give the group a stronger presence in its main markets — wine, spirits, olive oil, vinegar and beer — while “reinforcing industrial and creative capacities”. In addition to Sparflex and Enoplastic, Crealis’ portfolio includes Le Muselet Valentin, Rivercap, Maverick, Pe.Di, Supercap and Corchomex. The company reveals to Luxe Packaging Insight that its growth strategy for the future will notably be fueled by acquisitions.
Along with the new branding, Crealis has segmented its offer into three collections:
- Maestro targets the luxury and premium segments with its molded aluminum top Sparlux Foil, customizable Art & Craft wirehood, Tinlux Capsules (single piece tin capsules) and T-Bar Lux with its premium finishes.
- The Collection range is a comprehensive offer of Crealis' solutions: foils, wirehoods, capsules and closures.
- Green Tech, the third pillar, includes a closures portfolio of bio-based and compostable materials applicable to both the Maestro and Collection ranges.
Green Tech is segmented into three categories: Recycled, Bio-Based and Compostable. Recycled includes its solutions R-Derma, a capsule containing 60% recycled PE and PET+, thermos-retractable PET capsules with a 35% PCR content. In the Bio-Based offer, ECO is a plant-based bar top geared to the spirits, olive oil and vinegar markets.
