WINTER LAUNCHES WOOD-EFFECT MATERIAL

Swiss specialist in packaging cover materials, Winter is coming out with a new reference within its Napura papers range. "Napura, a collection of thermo-reactive papers, is a material that reacts to hot stamping by naturally darkening, similar to real wood, which results in a tone-on-tone effect—and without the use of plastic films," explains Winter marketing director Franck Pflieger. The range includes eight wood grains and around 10 different shades to give a total of 110 skus. The latest addition to the collection is Timber, a solid colored paper offering a cut wood grain effect. Both visually and tactically, the material resembles raw wood, according to the company, and is both "vegan and recyclable". Timber is available in 130g, but can be manufactured in a variety of other paper weights on request. "Timber’s one-of-a-kind grain and thermo-reactive aspect make the material quite unique," adds Pflieger. In terms of packaging applications, Timber is designed as a covering paper for cardboard boxes, folding cartons, boxes, labels and shopping bags.
