Eco-conceived packaging solution

AFA Dispensing Group was crowned the winner in the Eco-conceived Packaging Solution category for its next generation liquid dispensing solution Flairosol Personal Care. The brainchild of Dutch designer Robert Bronwasser, Flairsol is a refillable, travel-sized alternative to aerosols. It is free from pressurized gases and boasts a patented ‘continuous-mist’ spray technology. Flairsol can be used for skincare products, sun protection, facial sprays or deodorant.

CSR Initiative

RECOSYS, a recycling system for PET carrier film from Kurz Group, was declared best CSR Initiative. With this return and recycling scheme, rolls of used metallized polyester are turned into RECOPOUND, a high-quality plastic injection material.

Public Awards

The top three in the Public Awards were:

UDN Packaging Corporation’s UDN 5TH one-piece round tube that integrates the cap directly onto the tube body. Wall thickness has been reduced from 0.45mm to 0.35mm. This monomaterial PP tube is said to reduce plastic use by 55% compared with a traditional flip cap tube.

Toppan’s Paper Tag eco-friendly RFID/NFC tag that uses a paper substrate rather than a PET film substrate. Said to cut down on both plastic and energy use, the RFID tag is embedded in the inner layer of the packaging box paper. This helps prevent transfer or reuse of the tag, as well as reducing the amount of tag attachment work.

Baixinglong for its gift box for luxury makeup and skincare brand Chantecaille. The Chantecaille Gift Box is made of paper and decorated using eco-friendly inks. Unopened, the box depicts a “destroyed ecological environment”, which transforms to a “green and vibrant nature scene” once the front “window blinds” are opened.

This year, the LUXE PACK in green space was designed by Partner around the theme of Marine Environmental Protection.
