The 15th edition of the prix François Coty took place in Paris on Monday night. Perfumers Anne Flipo, Philippe Paparella-Paris and Delphine Jelk were honored at the awards, which next year will be held in Grasse.
At Paris’ Hotel Lutetia on November 28th, Guerlain perfumer Delphine Jelk (pictured below, second from left) took home the François Coty award honoring the “diversity and daring” of her fragrance creations. Jelk creations include fragrances for Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria and L’Art et La Matière collections.
IFF perfumer Anne Flipo (pictured below) was given the Honorary Award in recognition of her contribution to enriching olfactory creation. Her fragrance compositions include Good Fortune by Viktor & Rolf, and Rochas Girl.
Philippe Paparella-Paris (Symrise) scooped the newly created International Award for his work in the international arena. Paparella-Paris is pictured below (center) with Symrise perfumer Emilie Coppermann (left) and François Coty Association President Veronique Coty (right). He has created scents including Oman Luxury’s Overdose and Paramour, and Ferrari’s Nobel Fig.
The trophy was Lalique’s iconic Bacchantes vase designed by René Lalique in 1927, while this year the event displayed paper creations from Studio Marianne Guély.
The 16th edition of the François Coty Award will be held in Grasse, France’s perfume capital, in 2023.
