French glassmaker Verallia has unveiled the theme of its 2023 Design Awards. The patron of the glass packaging design competition this year is designer Pierre Charrié, known for his work on the sensorial aspect of everyday objects.
The theme of the 14th edition of the Verallia Design Awards is verre pour vivre le moment (glass for living in the moment). Design students will be challenged to conceive bottles or jars that take their cues from nature and inspire feelings of calm and serenity.
They will be competing for one of six prizes: three ‘bottle’ prizes across Still & Sparkling wines, Spirits and Beer, Water & Non-alcoholic drinks; on ‘jar prize in the food category; a special prize awarded by the patron of the event, designer Pierre Charrié, and a employees’ favorite award. Each winner will see their design made into a prototype by Verallia.
Students have until March 26th 2023 to submit their design. The jury deliberation will take place on May 25th, with the prizes awarded at the end of June. Click here to discover last year’s winners of the Verallia Design Awards.
