Vibrating with “vim and vigor”, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2023 takes its inspiration from the red of natural dye cochineal.
After Very Peri in 2022, color institute Pantone has announced Viva Magenta 18-1750 as Color of the Year for 2023. The bright, crimson red is described as an “unconventional shade for an unconventional time”.
“In this age of technology, we look to draw inspiration from nature and what is real. Pantone 18-1750 Viva Magenta descends from the red family, and is inspired by the red of cochineal,” comments Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Color Institute.
