Interview with Victor Rodriguez, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing - Glass Containers at Vitro, about the company's latest accomplishments, priorities and projects.
What's new at Vitro Glass Containers?
In 2022, we produced over a billion bottles. We also invested over $70 million in a new 230-ton furnace. We have not only increased our capacity, but also developed our skills, thanks in particular to our new decoration facility in Brazil, and investments in high-end decoration equipment and vision systems at our plant in Mexico. Our ambition is to offer a wide range of innovative products and services to our customers worldwide.

What services do you like to emphasize for brands?
Vitro has always emphasized service, flexibility in our capabilities, value-added processes and our ability to develop new products at an accelerated pace by integrating all stages: design, in-house mold development, glass production including color feeding and PCR, lacquering and all kinds of decoration, special packaging and logistics services.
What are your strengths?
Our main strength is our people. We have a team of highly qualified professionals committed to different processes, with a high level of quality and service. They work closely with our sales team to meet our customers’ needs and provide a comprehensive "one-stop-service".
What is your current priority?
One of the focus areas is sustainability and social responsibility. We are committed to reducing our emissions and working with our internal and external communities to achieve continuous improvement. We have received several recognitions from the authorities, and above all from our customers, for some of the programs we have implemented with our teams and in our areas of influence.
What are your latest innovations?
We recently launched a sustainable fragrance and skincare line called LIGIA, with lightweight bottles and jars that offer refillable alternatives for our customers. At the same time, we offer a range of innovative lightweight shapes for the spirits market, meeting the needs of different segments. And there's more to come!
