Spanish dropper specialist Virospack has launched what it says is the first single-piece wooden dropper collar for cosmetics applications.
Made of a single component, the wood collar is devoid of the traditional plastic inner cap. Having got rid of the plastic insert and the gluing process means a reduction in carbon emissions, explains the supplier.
Made using wood from sustainably managed forests, the collar can be customized to achieve various wood finishes including oak and beech and can also be painted with organic lacquers.
“This is an important development that responds to our environmental commitments. We are the first company to achieve a single-piece wooden dropper—there is no other on the market,” Virospack Marketing & Communication Manager Rosa Porras tells Luxe Packaging Insight.
The development took almost two years to come to fruition, with technical details remaining confidential. The bulb is available in a recyclable and food-grade option.
