Van Genechten Packaging adds cold foil technology to offer

Secondary packaging specialist Van Genechten has invested in a cold foil press at its Angoulême site, bringing the embellishment process in-house.

Van Genechten Packaging (VGP) joined forces with Dutch printing specialist Vinfoil for the purchase of a new offset printing machine offering cold foil technology. The machine was commissioned for VGP’s Angoulême site in France—specialized in premium product packaging—which will allow the supplier to internalize the cold foil printing service. “The cold foil process fits perfectly alongside our offerings of hot-foil, metallization transfer and metallic inks,” explains the site’s Plant Manager, Jérôme Cahu.

The machine’s “smart” material use, foil waste reduction and built-in recyclability allows VGP to reduce its environmental impact. The machine began production in April.
