After being postponed due to the ongoing crisis, the Austrian glassmaker is going ahead with plans to rebuild its furnace at Stoelzle Masnières Parfumerie, its site in Northern France specialized in perfumery bottles.
The rebuild, representing an investment of €20m, will result in an increase in production capacity of 30% with the addition of a fifth production line to reach a capacity of 100 tons. The furnace will be shut down next month, and fired up again in early January 2021. It is the glassmaker’s only furnace at the Masnières site.
"Even in these difficult times, our priority is to continue investing in all our sites. In France, the new extended furnace will enable us to maintain our position as a center of excellence for the manufacturing of high-end flacons and jars for the international perfume and cosmetics industries," explains Etienne Gruyez, CEO of Stoelzle Masnières Parfumerie.
Late March, Gruyez had told Luxe Packaging Insight that production at Masnières was at a standstill, both for glass production and decoration. In May, the glassmaker re-opened two lines to reach 50% capacity.
