After Rouge Hermès, Rose Hermès… Hermès Beauty has begun a new chapter in its color cosmetics offer, gearing up to launch its first blush next month. The refillable compact is part of a collection that includes lip products, a blush case and two brushes.

Rose Hermès, the latest installment in the French luxury brand’s make-up offering launching mid April includes Rose Hermès Silky Blush. It comes in a round, white and gold case in satin-finish permabrass designed by Pierre Hardy, Creative Director of Hermès Shoes and Jewellery.

“Design is where necessity meets fantasy,” Hardy comments in a statement. Of the compact he muses, “It is not simply “packaging”, but rather an object that is both desirable and discreet.” The case features the concave ex-libris created by Émile Hermès in 1923 on its lid, and opens to reveal a black interior, with the blush and mirror positioned off-center. The blush itself is marked with the twill weave of Hermès’ scarves. To refill the compact, consumers remove and replace the powder pan.

Rose Hermès Silky Blush comes in the brand’s distinctive orange box, slipped into an outer sleeve in recycled paper. With regards the formula, the blush combines mineral powder with vitamin E for its antioxidant properties, and has a scent created by house perfumer Christine Nagel that blends notes of arnica, sandalwood and green tea. Available in eight shades, it is priced at €68 and €42 for the refill.

Also in the collection is Rosy Lip Enhancer, a new take on Hermès’ refillable lipsticks. The white and gold case features a matt pink lacquered band, while the beveled and slightly rounded bullet is said to enable “precise and generous” application. The formula, with its white mulberry and raspberry seed oil extracts, is said to offer an almost imperceptible “fine and delicate waxy finish” inspired by the candle wax feel of Butler calfskin - developed by Hermès in 2012. Rosy Lip Enhancer is also a nod to the warm, kneaded beeswax used by artisans in Hermès’ leather workshops to coat linen threads prior to saddle stitching. For this scent, Nagel combined sandalwood, arnica and angelica. The Rosy Lip Enhancer retails at €64 (€39 for the refill).

The Rose Hermès range also includes accessories: a blush brush (€115) crafted by a French brush-maker, with a lacquered wooden handle, brushed metal ferrule, and goat bristle fibers. The travel blush brush (€48), meanwhile, boasts easy-to-clean synthetic fibers and a handle with a white lacquer and brushed gold finish. The Pommette blush case with adjustable strap is made from Rose Extrême Madame calfskin and is designed to house the Rose Hermès Silky Blush and the travel blush brush.
