Ruinart reveals artist collab for Second Skin cases

LVMH champagne house Ruinart has called on Paris-based artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet to decorate its Second Skin champagne coffrets. Navet used colored pencils and pastels to create colorful, limited-edition packs for four Ruinart cuvées.

Lime green, cherry red, pineapple yellow… artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet translated into color the aromatic universe of four Ruinart champagnes: R de Ruinart, R de Ruinart Millésime 2011, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Ruinart Rosé.

The limited-edition champagne packs decorated by Navet will be on sale at La Grande Epicerie in Paris between June 7th and July 7th; Ruinart will unveil a new cuvée in the collection each week. Just 100 of each limited-edition are available, priced from €68 to €95.

With a texture inspired by Ruinart’s chalk cellars and made from 100% cellulose fiber, the lightweight shell-like champagne case (Pusterla 1880/James Cropper) is molded to hug the contours of the bottle. Second Skin is said to be nine times lighter than Ruinart’s previous coffrets, with a carbon footprint that is 60% lower.
