Representing an investment of €1m, a new 900m2 decoration center at Quadpack’s Kierspe plant in Germany enables the beauty packaging supplier to bring two previously outsourced activies, silkscreening and hot-stamping, in-house.
Spain-based beauty packaging supplier Quadpack has inaugurated the new decoration center at its production plant in Kierspe, Germany, which is specialized in PET injection and airless packaging solutions.
The 900m2 decoration facility staffed by 36 employees operates five high-capacity decorating lines for silk-screening and hot-stamping and 11 assembly machines. Quadpack aims to expand the facility to reach 10 decoration lines and 14 assembly machines in the coming months.
“Our increased decoration capability allows us to bring in-house a service that was previously outsourced,” Ernesto Cara, Head of Industrial Process at Quadpack, said in a statement. “In doing so, we will be able to speed up delivery times and cut the carbon footprint of our ‘Made in Europe’ solutions.”
According to Quadpack, average lead times for finished packs are expected to be reduced by 50% at the site, while annual savings of 170 tons of C02 emissions are forecast.
The company, which acquired German decoration specialist Wicklein Kunststoffveredelung in October 2021, aims to become a leader in decoration. In Europe, it now offers silk-screening, hot-stamping, full-cover hot-stamping, pad printing, metallization, laser etching, color matching and digital printing in-house. New decoration techniques will soon be added it its offer.
