Quadpack has acquired injection-molding specialist Louvrette. The deal gives the beauty packaging specialist both a strong foothold in the German market and an expanded capacity when it comes to thick-walled injection molding.
Louvrette, with its expertise in the skincare sector, also brings a manufacturing footprint covering 8,500m2 that includes 40 injection-molding lines, a mold shop as well as plastic decoration capacities. “Our strengths go hand in hand. Louvrette brings mold-making, engineering and manufacturing expertise, and we bring creative design together with a global infrastructure in sales, marketing, sourcing and logistics,” comments Quadpack ceo and co-founder Tim Eaves.
Thanks to the acquisition, Quadpack will be boosting its offer of own-manufactured products (versus sourcing) to more than 30% of sales. In addition, more than 100 products will join Quadpack’s Q-Line catalog of stock items. This is Quadpack’s second acquisition in one month: it purchased the commercial rights to German company Inotech’s patented bi-injection blow molding process as well as its cosmetics packaging business and products. The industrial process allows for the production of products using two materials at once, making for less waste and forgoing the need for assembly, according to Quadpack.
