Italian packaging group Pusterla 1880 has purchased French luxury coffret manufacturer Groupe Adine. The acquisition comes on the heels of the arrival of new minority shareholder Andera Partners into Pusterla 1880’s capital earlier this year.
Pusterla 1880’s addition of Groupe Adine (including Adine and Chiffoleau) into its portfolio strengthens the Italian supplier’s foothold on the French luxury market, which it had already reinforced with the acquisition of Virojanglor in 2018. “This acquisition is in line with our ambitions to develop our activity in France in the area of high added value coffrets,” Pusterla 1880 CEO Roberto Marini tells Luxe Packaging Insight.
Founded in 1808 and certified Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant*, Adine is reputed for its historic savoir-faire in the area of premium coffrets and gift boxes. It offers its parent company specific know-how in small and medium-sized production runs. Its proximity to Pusterla’s industrial site near Le Mans will make for additional synergies between the two structures, adds Marini.
The deal also includes offset and digital printing specialist Chiffoleau, located in the Nantes area, bringing the Italian group printing expertise in France.
With these acquisitions, the group’s staff numbers in France will reach more than 300.
Over the last three years, Pusterla 1880 has reinforced its portfolio with a number of acquisitions, the most recent being round box specialist Cavalieri & Amoretti.
