Guerlain’s Muguet Millésime 2023 fragrance bottle features an adornment blending porcelain and embroidery, the work of Karen Swami and Les Ateliers Vermont.
Since 2006, Guerlain has called on artisans to craft adornments for its Muguet fragrance celebrating May Day and the lily of the valley flower. This year, the LVMH-owned brand is highlighting the work of Karen Swami and Ateliers Vermont.
Ceramicist Karen Swami was given carte blanche for the creation, coming up with an oversized flower in biscuit porcelain. Limoges-based specialist Porcelaine Arquié produced 5,000 flowers modeled after Swami’s prototype.
The flower sits on the shoulders of the brand's historic bee bottle (Pochet du Courval), while a green tulle bow embroidered with lily-of-the-valley flowers – the work of Parisian embroidery house Ateliers Vermont – adorns the neck of the flacon.
Launching in April, the Muguet Millésime 2023 fragrance is limited to 5,000 pieces and retails at €700. Composed by Guerlain house perfumer Thierry Wasser, the EdT contains notes of jasmine sambac and rose.
Previous limited-editions of Guerlain’s Muguet fragrance have showcased the work of creative studio Maison Massillon, silk specialist Sericyne, paper and textile designer Lucie Touré, and Parisian jeweler Atelier Truscelli.
