Peyer combines digital relief printing and hot-stamping for latest decoration technique

German company Peyer revealed a new glass decoration technique for the luxury cosmetics market that is designed to mimic embossing.

Creating a stand-out tactile effect for cosmetics packaging was the idea behind Peyer’s new decoration technique on display at Paris Packaging Week. A UV lacquer is first used to create a relief, which is then digitally printed and hot stamped.

In addition to glass, the decoration technique can also be used on metal, the company says. It is designed for small-series runs or personalized packs, as each bottle can have a different design.
