Beauty trends and ingredients will take center stage at MakeUp in Paris when it opens tomorrow, June 14th. The conference program will explore current issues including refillable and waterless cosmetics, and will feature speakers from FEBEA, All Tigers and La Samaritaine.

Some 150 makeup and skincare exhibitors will welcome visitors at MakeUp in Paris on June 14th and 15th, 2023 at Carrousel de Louvre in the French capital. More than 58% of these – including Technature, O-Pac, Creapharm Cosmetics, SP Labs, and Cosmecca Korea – will offer skincare products, catering to the show’s 64% of visitors who attend the event to seek out innovations for both make-up and skincare. Some 47 exhibitors are new to the show this year, including APR Beauty Group, Hakuhodo, Visage Technologies, Procesos Cosmeticos and Allta International.

Ingredients will also be in the spotlight, thanks to exhibitors Merck, Maprecos, Brasca Industrial And Polystone Chemical. Back again for 2023 is the show’s ephemeral lab with Co Lab Ora. Focusing on "natural and ethical make-up", this cosmetics laboratory will explore make-up formulation, from raw materials to the manufacturing process allowing visitors to customize a lip SPF and night serum, with a focus on formulating “emotional cosmetics”.

MakeUp in Paris names first-ever ambassador: Aïmara Coupet

Aïmara Coupet, Founder of makeup brand Be+Radiance, is the ambassador of the 2023 edition of MakeUp in Paris - a first such initiative for the exhibition. Coupet worked with the show's organizers to build the conference program, where she will deliver a session with 4-5-6 skin Co-founder Dr Imen Jerbi Azaiez on how science and R&D can contribute to more diversity and inclusivity in cosmetics.

Coupet is also hosting the Innovation Award on June 14th, when the winners will be revealed. A show staple, the annual competition rewards makeup and skincare innovations from exhibitors across packaging, accessories, full service and formulation. A space on the show floor will showcase both winners and nominees.

Conferences tackle refillable and waterless beauty

MakeUp in Paris’ two-day conference program will cover topics including the growing movement for waterless cosmetics and refillable beauty packaging, the latest trends in aesthetic medicine and Gen Z’s relationship with beauty.

In Regulatory Challenges of Refillable Beauty, Beautyworld Connexions CEO & Founder Charles-Emmanuel Gounod, beauty industry association FEBEA's Elodie Fisica, and Brivaplast Group Business Development Manager Marco Roda will discuss the impact of regulations on refillable beauty, from specific batch numbers to cleaning containers.
