LVMH-owned Maison Francis Kurkdjian has unveiled a new chapter in its Aqua fragrance franchise with the launch of the Cologne forte collection, three new variations of its Aqua Universalis, Aqua Vitae and Aqua Celestia scents. The unisex fragrances have been reworked in an EdP concentration and a pop of color added to the packaging.
Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s latest fragrance launch builds its iconic Aqua fragrance trio, the first scent of which launched for the brand’s creation in 2009. For this new incarnation, Cologne forte, house perfumer Francis Kurkdjian sought to “convey freshness through the sensations induced by light”.
Aqua Universalis Cologne forte is described as a musky, citrusy scent with notes of bergamot, white floral accord and white musk accord; Aqua Vitae a citrusy floral containing bergamot, mandarin and floral accord; and Aqua Celestia a citrusy fruity scent with bergamot, blackcurrant and jasmine.
While Aqua Universalis’ flint glass flacon (Pochet du Courval) remains unchanged in this new version, Aqua Vitae comes in a translucent graded bottle lacquered a sunny yellow and Aqua Celestia a translucent blue. The brand and fragrance name are screenprinted in glossy white on the facing; here, Pochet du Courval worked to obtain a text that was as opaque and readable as possible, ensuring the right dosage of ink and thicknesses of lettering to define the desired result. The flacons are topped with galvanized zamak caps (Segede).
The fragrance boxes (B Pack), made with Cordénons’ 320g Astropack, are decorated with a combination of relief and offset printing, hot stamping and matte lacquer. The narrow band of color at the base of the sheath Smurfit Kappa Siemco) that echoes the bottle’s hue is mirrored in the upper interior part of the box.
Launching in May, the EdPs are priced at €160 for the 70ml.
