LUXE PACK New York readies for milestone luxury packaging show

LUXE PACK is marking its 19th event in New York with the 2022 luxury packaging show that opens at Manhattan's Javits Center next week. An exhibition featuring agency Material Driven and sustainability- and design-focused conferences with leading industry executives are not to be missed.

This year's edition of LUXE PACK New York, taking place on June 15th and 16th, will host 160 exhibitors, 57 of which are new. First-time exhibitors include Cerve, Neyret, Hunter Luxury and Premier Packaging.

“All indicators are on green for LUXE PACK New York 2022. After the timid reopening of trade shows in 2021, the beginning of 2022 seems to confirm the packaging industry’s strong recovery,” LUXE PACK Shows Director Fabienne Germond tells Luxe Packaging Insight. “Some 160 international exhibitors will fill the show floor to highlight their latest packaging innovations in all sectors. The discovery of new materials and the future of eco-responsible packaging will be highlighted through animations and a rich conference program. LUXE PACK New York 2022 promises to be a great edition!”

New to the show floor this year is the Sense and Sustainability exhibition and workshop series co-created with design agency and materials library Material Driven. The exhibition will feature an array of “original and inviting materials” that address themes including biodegradability, recycling and carbon footprint. An interactive workshop series entitled Materializing the Senses will explore unconventional, tactile and cutting-edge packaging materials, while Break it Down: Sustainability aims to decode and demystify sustainable materials.

Inaugurated at LUXE PACK New York last year, the Exploratorium will once again be a feature on the show floor, displaying more than 65 products from exhibitors. Also on display will be the products competing for the hotly-anticipated LUXE PACK in green awards that recognize exhibitors' sustainable packaging and CSR initiatives.

The in green award ceremony will take place on June 15th at 5pm, hosted by consultancy Positive Luxury’s Co-founder and CEO Diana Verde Nieto. And new for this year, attendees can meet the in green judging panel in person at a lead-up session before the winners are announced. Dubbed What Does Sustainability Look Like In The Year 2030?, The roundtable features the in green judging panel: Kaitlyn Schneider, Director of Innovations & Package Engineering, Tata Harper Skincare; Monica Becker, Director, Beauty, Personal Care and Household Products, Cradle To Cradle Product Innovation Institute; Alexandra Uribe, Sustainability Consultant & Carbon Emissions Specialist, Co2ral; Victor Casale, Co-Founder & Ceo, Mob Beauty & Co-Founder, Pact Collective; Jamie Matusow, Editor-In-Chief, Beauty Packaging. Access the full program here.

With its strong focus on sustainability and design, the conference program touts speakers including Mia Davis, VP Sustainability & Impact & Credo Beauty and Co-founder Pact Collective; Anthony Rossi, EVP Business Development at Terracycle & Loop, and Christian Saclier, VP of Design Innovation at Pepsico. Sessions include Brand Futures: Decoding Consumer Trends for the Premium Packaging Industries with Wunderman Thompson Intelligence, and 0 Beauty – Achieving Carbon and Plastic Neutrality, featuring retail, packaging and sustainability experts from Credo Beauty, Positive Luxury, Co2ral and FusionPKG. Other sessions will cover the pros, cons and profitability of refillable and reusable formats, and how consumers are embracing connected experiences.
