Luxe Pack and MakeUp in are just days away from opening their 2020 Los Angeles joint show, this time at LA's downtown Convention Center. We've selected a few not-to-miss highlights and cutting-edge issues that will be addressed during the events.
For the second year running, Luxe Pack and MakeUp in will run a shared conference program, with several hot issues on the roster. These include the sexual wellness and beauty market, what's on the horizon for the clean beauty movement, upcoming trends for the new decade (with Emma Chiu, Global Director of Wunderman Thompson Intelligence) and the future of CBD in the US market. A two-part conference on sustainable packaging will cover circular economy initiatives in the beauty packaging realm (featuring Albéa and Smashbox Cosmetics) and the challenges and opportunities related to refillable and reloadable packaging (with Hourglass Cosmetics, Unilever Prestige, Aptar and Bartlett Brands).
Both shows will launch a raft of new initiatives for the 2020 edition. Luxe Pack is inaugurating the Exploratorium, a space at the entrance to the show that will give visitors a preview of what they'll find on exhibitors' stands and featuring more than 25 branded products. "A great opportunity to get an up-close and personal view of the packaging expertise that awaits on the show floor," explains the organizer.
Luxe Pack's Turbo Talks are again a fixture, but this time will highlight exhibitors' sustainable initiatives and will take on a "tour" format. The Green Turbo Talks Tour begins at 11am and will guide attendees on a one-hour visit of the show floor to learn about suppliers' green packaging innovations.
MakeUp in Los Angeles has come up with a slew of new experiences this year. A new concept that includes three spaces: Rock My Lips, Rock My Eyes and Rock My Skin, will feature the latest innovations in the areas of lip, eye and skin products. Each area is conceived by a trend agency—Cosmetics Inspiration & Creation, Asia Cosme Lab and Weoutwow—and will feature a range of demos and workshops. Formulation specialist Luisa Oliva will run hourly workshops in each of the Rock My areas twice a day (book your spot). Chic Studios makeup academy will staff a touch-up makeup area, which uses only products sourced from the show floor that exhibitors have identified as their bestselling formulas.
The MakeUp in LA team is also highlighting what it sees as the major emerging trends in the beauty space, a shortlist that includes Nutricosmetics, Bold Brows and Intuitive Design.
The shows take place on February 11-12. The Luxe Packaging Insight team will see you there!
