A “carbon clinic”, a partnership with the Independent Beauty Association and a look at the latest packaging to be hitting the market are some of the novelties awaiting visitors at the LUXE PACK Los Angeles trade show in February 2023.
LUXE PACK Los Angeles took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 16th-17th. The luxury packaging trade show played host to more than 80 exhibitors across beauty, wine and spirits, fine foods and fashion. Anomatic, Dapy, Heinz Glas and Knoll Printing & Packaging are among the companies exhibiting.
This year, the show is debuting the “carbon clinic” in association with WAP Sustainability Consulting, a life cycle assessment (LCA) services firm. The clinic aims to help companies understand sustainability motivators and draw up an action plan.
Elsewhere on the show floor, the LUXE PACK Los Angeles’ Exploratorium is back by popular demand in 2023. The interactive product display featured retail and product launches from the past year created by show exhibitors.
The Independent Beauty Association (IBA) is a partner of LUXE PACK Los Angeles this year. Present on the show floor, IBA is also part of the education program with its session entitled Sustainability Beyond the Bottle, which will look at the impact of packaging decoration and label choices on a product’s circularity. Moderated by Akemi Ooka, Head of Global Supply Chain Resources, IBA, the session features speakers Tim Bohlke, Director of Sustainability at the Resource Label Group, and Victor Casale, Co-founder of Pact Collective.
Additionally on the packaging front, representatives from skincare brand Summer Fridays, haircare player Olaplex and APC Packaging will look at how to develop packaging in a fast-moving market environment. Beauty branding agency MSLK will host a workshop on Unearthing Brand White Space for Packaging and E-commerce, and FusionPKG, Izzy Zero Waste Beauty and beauty travel brand Oneiro will seek to answer the question Is Being 100% Sustainable Possible?. The PACK Players Launch Session, meanwhile, will give attendees a look at new packaging developments launched at the show.
Also in the conference program, jointly drawn up with sister event MakeUp in LosAngeles, is WAP’s session on LCA and carbon accounting. The metaverse and the future of social media feature on the agenda, as does a session on "how to become a million dollar brand".
And last but not least, at the Culture Pulse session, Wunderman Thompson Intelligence will explore the consumer trends set to influence luxury packaging, leveraging content from its Future 100 2023 report.
