LVMH-owned Louis Vuitton has added a fourth fragrance, City of Stars, to its perfume collection inspired by California. The brand tapped American artist Alex Israel for the packaging design.
Louis Vuitton has expanded its fragrance range celebrating the vibrancy of the American West Coast with a new ‘Cologne Perfume’. Dubbed City of Stars, the collection’s first evening cologne continues the range’s colourful aesthetic.
City of Stars comes in a refillable, cylindrical flacon (Pochet du Courval) characterised by a wide neck and a prominent lip. Minimalistic embossing of the brand’s name decorates the facing, while a warm-hued ombré effect recalls the LA sunset depicted in American artist Alex Israel’s painting created specifically for the perfume’s launch. A sleek black stopper (Qualipac) bearing the brand’s logo in gold tops the bottle.
As for secondary packaging, the white, tubular case comes in a cardboard box (both Pusterla 1880) that is decorated with Israel’s artwork. The artist also designed an original travel case (Ateliers Louis Vuitton) that sports his cityscape design overlapping with Louis Vuitton’s emblematic logo.
For City of Stars, in-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud combined notes of citrus, bergamot and tiare.
Launched in March 2022, the fragrance retails at €240 for 100ml (in-store refill priced at €150) or €370 for 200ml (in-store refill priced at €300).
