For the 2021 edition of Lalique’s crystal collector flacon, the company is paying tribute to the peony. The flower-shaped limited-edition Pivoine flacon is topped with a crystal stopper in the form of a dew drop.
After Naiades in 2019 and Orchidée in 2020, Lalique’s crystal collector flacon is this year inspired by the peony, a flower said to be a symbol of prosperity and happiness.
The rounded flacon, designed to resemble a blooming peony, combines satin-finish and transparent crystal, used for the petals and for the flower’s edges and veins respectively. A rounded satin crystal stopper in the shape of a dew drop forms the center of the bloom. Each flacon is sealed with a golden thread using the baudruchage technique.
Pivoine is nestled in a front-opening coffret (Knoll Packaging) made from FSC-certified wood and sheathed in ivory-colored imitation leather. The brand name is hot-stamped in gold, in an echo of the coffret’s metalllic gold hinges, while the blooming peony motif was multi-layer engraved onto the lid.
Like other Lalique crystal collector flacons, Pivoine houses the Lalique de Lalique extrait de parfum, which contains notes of rose, jasmine and iris.
The 150ml scent retails at €1,200. The fragrance is available in a limited run of 1,500 numbered pieces.
