Lalique's Epines platinium candle

For the Platinum Edition of its Epines scented candle, crystal maker Lalique conceived a candle jar in purple crystal that traces the stylized curves of a blackberry bush.

A fine layer of platinum is applied to the brambles and fruit. The candle is housed in a box (Mingfeng) covered with a Fedrigoni paper in a shade of deep purple.

The candle’s motif is taken from the Epines collection of bathroom accessories designed in 1920 by René Lalique.

Perfumer Jérôme Epinette (Robertet) created the candle’s scent, which combines notes of pine, saffron and black cherry. The 750g candle retails at $2,300 and launched last month. Just 488 pieces are available.
