Interparfums is launching a refillable version of its Rochas Girl perfume this spring, one year after first introducing the scent to the market. The refill uses Techniplast’s RT-Twist technology.
Rochas (Interparfums) is heightening the sustainability credentials of its Girl fragrance – already designed with a “90% natural origin formula” and recycled content for the bottle and cap – with the launch of a refillable flacon.
Like the original Girl bottle, the refillable flacon is made of Verescence’s Verre Infini glass containing 40% PCR while promising the same transparency and clarity as virgin glass. The bottle is decorated with a partial lacquer in almond green (Nigermat) – a water-based lacquer containing 5% solvents – and screenprinted black on the facing. “Spray Good, Feel Good” is pad printed on the shoulders. The smooth, cylindrical cap in the same shade of almond green as the bottle décor is made from partly recycled plastic (VPI Faiveley Plast): organically sourced PP for the upper section and recycled PET and organically-sourced mineral PP for the outer section.
To refill the bottle, consumers unscrew the flacon – equipped with a pump from Silgan Dispensing. The refill uses Techniplast’s RT-Twist technology, while the refill bottle (Heinz Glas) contains 25% recycled glass.
Rochas says that one 75ml flacon and its 150ml refill cut down on the use of glass by 40%, plastic by 46%, cardboard by 35% and metal by 66% compared with the purchase of three 75ml flacons.
Thierry de Baschmakoff designed the fragrance bottle and its refill, while Force Majeure is behind the secondary packaging (Verpack) that uses FSC-certified card and is offset printed in black.
Girl is a floral woody citrus eau de toilette. Composed by Anne Flipo (IFF), it contains notes of neroli, orange blossom and cedarwood. The 75ml fragrance and its 150ml refill launch this March, priced at €79 and €115 respectively.
