Hennessy kicks off carafe customization service

At the Hennessy Hands space in Parisian department store La Samaritaine, customers can personalize their Hennessy carafe with engravings and leather accessories.

Customization is taking center stage at cognac brand Hennessy. The LVMH brand is now offering its clients the opportunity to personalize their carafe at a dedicated space at the French capital’s recently revamped La Samaritaine department store, also owned by the luxury-goods group.

Visitors to Hennessy’s boutique can avail of the Hennessy Hands workshop service to have their bottle engraved with their initials in bronze, silver or gold. The available typefaces are designed to evoke the calligraphy lettering on Hennessy’s casks. The laser-engraving on the carafes is the work of DWS, a specialist in personalizing luxury products of varying materials including glass, leather and cardboard.

Customers can also opt for a leather accessory, which fits snugly around the neck of the decanter and is inspired by barrel making and the wooden hoops encircling the brand’s cognac barrels. They can choose between a leather clip or a strip, in colors including Richard Hennessy Red - a nod to the red coat worn by Hennessy’s founder - or beige in reference to the color of Charente stone.

A portion of the brand’s cognac collection is available for sale at the Hennessy boutique, as well as the iconic Hennessy Paradis, created in 1979.
