Guerlain taps Ateliers Vermont for 2023 Cherry Blossom fragrance

Celebrating the traditional Japanese ritual Hanami, the bottle of Guerlain’s Cherry Blossom 2023 Millésime is adorned with a cherry blossom tree branch crafted by Ateliers Vermont.

Each year as an homage to the Japan's Hanami ritual - or contemplation of the cherry blossom – French brand Guerlain (LVMH) adds a new Cherry Blossom limited-edition to its Exceptional Creations collection. For the 2023 Millésime, the brand called on Parisian embroidery house Ateliers Vermont.

For this year’s edition, Guerlain’s iconic bee bottle (Pochet du Courval) is topped with a cherry tree branch blooming with sakura flowers. Hand-stitched to a pink grosgrain bow, the wire branch is hand-embroidered with a fine golden thread, then adorned with golden and tubular beads that form its body. The delicate fabric sakura blooms feature pink, red and transparent beads in the center of each flower.

The finished adornments are then entrusted to Guerlain’s Dames de table, who affix them to the bottles.

A white facing label with gold hotstamping is then applied by hand. For the secondary packaging, the flacon is housed in a box sheathed in white paper and decorated with a bee motif.

Composed by Jean-Paul Guerlain, the Cherry Blossom EdT combines notes of bergamot, green tea, almond, cherry and jasmine, and is limited to 3,000 pieces. Launching in February and priced at €700, each 125ml bottle comes with a 20ml travel spray in a white leather case, as well as a funnel to transfer the fragrance.

Guerlain previously collaborated with Lucie Touré for the Cherry Blossom 2021, and Kyoko Création for the Cherry Blossom 2022.
