Guerlain (LVMH) is once again celebrating May Day and France’s lily-of-the-valley tradition by unveiling the 2020 special-edition of its Muguet fragrance.
Creative studio Maison Massillon conceived a custom floral decoration made of unfired porcelain that crowns the dome of Guerlain’s iconic bee bottle (Pochet du Courval). Designed to celebrate the return of spring, it is composed of white flowers and stamen affixed to 24-carat gold-plated wire. Guerlain’s Dames de Table add the finishing touch by winding a fine gold cord around the neck of the bottle and placing a label at its center.
Muguet Millésime 2020, a green, floral scent with notes of lily-of-the-valley, rose and jasmine is limited to 4,427 bottles. Launching in April, the 125ml fragrance will retail at €550 and comes with a 20ml scent in a white leather sheath. Guerlain first released its limited-edition Muguet scent in 2006 with the aim of combining the brand’s heritage with contemporary design and artistic craftsmanship. Last year, Séricyne, a French start-up based in the Cevennes region and creator of natural 3D non-woven silk, decorated Guerlain’s Muguet Millésime.
