Grand Marnier launches Exceptional Range

Grand Marnier has debuted its Exceptional Range, kicking off with two products, Révélation and Grand Cuvée Quintessence. The Quintessence cognac blend comes in a Baccarat decanter inspired by the original Grand Marnier bottle.

Grand Marnier (Campari) has unveiled the first two releases in its Exceptional Range: Grand Cuvée Quintessence and Révélation. The brand worked with SGK BrandImage on the design of both products.

The two expressions are meant to “increase the level of sophistication in the current portfolio and to give a clear role to each SKU in the portfolio to better address consumer needs. The design inherently and intuitively informs the serving ritual,” Julka Vilka, Managing Director of Campari RARE, told Luxe Packaging Insight’s sister publication Formes de Luxe last year ahead of the launch.

Quintessence comes in a bespoke Baccarat decanter that echoe’s Grand Marnier’s iconic bottle, also crafted by Baccarat in 1880. The decanter is mouthblown at 1,450 degrees and topped with a handmade stopper.

For Quintessence’s secondary packaging, supplier DL Com produced an ultra-premium coffret. The wooden structure made of Paulownia wood and MDF has an automatic opening system. The exterior is sheathed in imitation leather and hot-stamped with Kurz foil, while the underside is imitation suede. Made of acrylic, the handle has been worked to resemble crystal. The coffret’s mirrored interior also features imitation leather.

Grande Cuvée Revelation is a blend of very rare XXO cognac. Its bottle (Bormioli Luigi) is topped with a glass stopper. “The refined bottle tells our heritage story,” says Vilka. “The glass stopper recreates the iconic Grand Marnier’s ribbon as a sculpture that plunges into the liquid.”

Just 1,000 bottles of Grand Cuvée Quintessence, retailing for $3,000, will be available globally in the first year. Révélation is priced at $700.
