Givenchy’s L’Interdit franchise heats up with Eau de Parfum Rouge

Launched mid-August, L’Interdit Eau de Parfum rouge is the latest fragrance to join Givenchy’s L’Interdit franchise. The EdP’s flacon features a translucent internal lacquer, said to be a first in the world of perfumery.

Givenchy L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Rouge, the new L’Interdit fragrance launch from the LVMH brand, is housed in the franchise’s iconic flacon (Verescence) sporting rounded shoulders and a thick base. The bottle is screenprinted, and the glassmaker’s COLOR’in technology is used to lacquer its internal walls red – Verescence says that the translucent effect obtained with this launch is a first in fragrance. While COLOR’in had until now allowed for an opaque finish, obtaining a translucent effect to subtly reveal the juice was more complex.

Around the neck of the bottle, a black, elastic grosgrain ribbon with Givenchy’s 4G logo (Neyret) engraved on a metal plate is applied manually (ICA). The fragrance is housed in a red and silver box (Wauters) printed with bio-sourced inks from Sun Chemical and hot-stamped in silver, stamped and embossed.

The EdP was created by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal (IFF). The fiery take on the original L’Interdit scent reveals notes of blood orange, ginger, pimento leaf and a “spicy red” accord.

Launched in August, it retails at €69.50 for 35ml, €99 for 50ml and €119 for 80ml.
