FusionPKG talks US luxury beauty trends

Jessica Tarangioli, vp of business development at Texas-based FusionPKG, explains how the supplier is addressing trends in the luxury beauty market via its BeautyLab Division.

What trends are currently shaping luxury beauty packaging in the US?

Luxury beauty has moved into what I’d call ‘mindful decoration’ through the selective placement of finishes, such as holographic iridescence, matte finish or unique hot-stamping. Brands are increasingly aware of aesthetics when it comes to material, finish and weight.

They are also embracing sustainability and working to determine its role and the optimal path to take for their brand and brand story. At Fusion we’ve seen growing interest in airless packaging solutions and its ability to preserve the formulas in response to the clean beauty movement. PCR resin is also an increasingly attractive option in terms of sustainable materials.

Brands are seeking new and different ideas that will both enhance the consumer experience, draw attention to the product and help protect the formula, be it through decoration or design. We continue to work with our clients to develop signature looks, bespoke color choices and unique secondary finishes and decoration techniques, such as colorful metal accents to help their products stand apart.

How is FusionPKG addressing these trends?

All beauty consumers have a need for speed and newness. Our BeautyLab Division has become a pivotal resource for beauty brands in need of disruptive, forward-thinking and patent-pending concepts that meet aggressive, first-to-market timelines. As a full turnkey operation, FusionPKG BeautyLab embodies the marriage of formula and packaging, proactively testing and innovating to help brands develop luxury packaging that distinctively optimizes their formulas without sacrificing speed to market.
