Paco Rabanne and Issey Miyake Parfums took home the best bottle prize at this year’s Fragrance Foundation France Awards. A Special 30-Year Award commemorating the event’s 30th anniversary went to Mugler’s Angel.
The 30th edition of Fragrance Foundation France Awards took place on June 16th at the Givaudan Creative House in Paris, rewarding the best in the fragrance industry. Paco Rabanne’s Phantom won the best men’s fragrance bottle award, while A Drop d’Issey by Issey Miyake Parfums scooped the best women’s fragrance bottle prize.
Best Men’s Bottle Design – Phantom, Paco Rabanne
Designed by Pierre Dinand, the flacon (Pochet du Courval, Heinz Glas) for Paco Rabanne’s Phantom EdP is in the shape of a robot. The bottle is metallized (Solev), lacquered a translucent brown and etched to reveal the brand logo. The metallic finish spray cap (VPI Faiveley Plast, SAF) in galvanized ABS has an embedded NFC chip that allows for connectivity. The bottle can be refilled using Techniplast’s RT-Twist.
Best Women’s Bottle Design – A Drop d’Issey, Issey Miyake Parfums
Issey Miyake Parfums’ A Drop d’Issey comes in a transparent glass flacon (Zignago Brosse) inspired by a droplet of water. Designed by American designer Todd Bracher, a “drop within a drop” was shaped into the back of the flacon for easier handling. The 5% PCR content glass bottle is topped with a curved, soft-touch PP spray cap (Albéa).
Special 30-Year Award – Angel, Mugler
Mugler‘s iconic Angel fragrance, first launched in 1992, took home the Special 30-Year Award, recognizing a perfume with an exceptional past including its creative talent and aesthetic qualities. Designed by the brand’s founder Thierry Mugler, Angel’s elaborate star-shaped bottle (Zignago Brosse) required a specially created rotating mold for its semi-automatic production. The fragrance cap is removable to allow for an in-store refill.
