A discovery coffret made of perfume card that holds seven, 2ml fragrance flacons.

The bespoke coffret is made in France using FSC-certified perfume card, whose long fibers intertwine without the use of glue or binders in the production process. The coffret consists of three parts: a sleeve that is printed, hot-stamped in gold and embossed; a die-cut pouch that is printed, hot-stamped and scored, and the insert. The black ink is vegetable-oil based. Gluing and assembly were done manually.

A textile beauty advent calendar designed for reuse

The advent calendar is made using recycled cotton (65%) from textile industry offcuts and is printed with water-based inks. Its design had to hold numerous products, while maintaining balanced proportions to facilitate reuse. It can be refilled with products to be reused the following year (the brand sells advent calendar refills), or can be repurposed as a wall organizer.

A coffret designed to boost social-media promotion of Kendall Jenner’s Moon oral-care products

The display box is made using FSC 100% recycled paper. Four-color offset printing and matte lamination is used for the floral design, while the Moon logo is hot-stamped in rose gold and embossed. Once the ‘forever’ flowers contained in the coffret are removed along with the tray, the pack can be reused as a storage box.

A beauty advent calendar with 12 drawers

The calendar is made of recycled rigid board wrapped in FSC paper with a custom pink color and pearlescent shimmer finish. Embellishment is done via rose gold hot stamping and holographic silver foil. The calendar has 12 individual drawers within a hidden framework: uniformity in size and stability in the form was done in keeping with the constraints of e-commerce shipping. The custom drawer handles are made of glass and metal. The ratio of foiling has been reduced to around 10%, allowing the calendar to be recycled once the drawer handles have been removed with a screwdriver.

A spinning, cylindrical advent calendar housing 24 beauty products

Made of FSC paper and board, the round structure is wrapped in plastic-free metallized paper that is printed and embossed. The coffret can be spun to reveal the different doors: the mechanism comprises two stacked cylinders, with cut-outs in the circular round base. Some 24 MAC beauty products (including 16 full size) are housed behind 24 individual folding doors. For the door closures, it was necessary to have enough friction for the flaps to stay closed due to the die shape and for each cavity to be wide enough to fit the different size products. The bow-shaped ribbon had to function as a handle; the interior can be lifted out by the ribbon handle so the box can be kept.

An outer sleeve combines with a rigid box comprising four jackets, a base and a lid. When the lid is removed, the box’s four sides fold open individually to a corolla that blossoms around the product. The corolla is made using two substrates – SBS coated paperboard embellished with green cold foil (a more sustainable alternative to metallized polyester) and a high-gloss compostable foil printed with a floral design. Black foam fitments in the base and lid are made with 30% recycled material, the maximum amount able to convert. The outer SBS paperboard sleeve printed with product information is embellished with UV gloss, embossed with Orveda’s logo and has a matte-finish on the inside. All components were produced on automated lines, but assembly is done by hand. Pack development was made more complex due to new Chinese regulations to reduce drastically the size of the box, the supplier highlights.
