A redesigned, more sustainable version of Cognac Frapin’s Cigar Blend Cognac’s folding carton pack
- Brand: Cognac Frapin
- Supplier: Van Genechten Packaging
The box is made from Kraftboard, embellished with hot stamping. With this redesign, the spirits box uses less ink and less cardboard, which is now uncoated. Both the folding carton and labels are 100% FSC certified, and locally sourced in France. One printing pass and the lamination step were removed from the production process, material weight was decreased by 35% compared to the previous packaging, and the metpol (metallized polyester) removed to avoid the use of plastic. Cognac Frapin’s carbon footprint for this pack has been reduced by 25% compared to the previous box.

Organic VSOP Cognac

A cardboard pack for Maison Hardy’s Organic VSOP Cognac
- Brand: Maison Hardy
- Supplier: DS Smith
The folding box is made using FSC Mix cardboard. Maison Hardy’s cockerel emblem is reproduced on the box using six-color offset printing, embellished with a combination of matte and glossy varnish, embossing and pressing. The printing is done on the underside of coated cardboard for a more textured feel, while alternative graining and embossing reproduce the effect of creative paper with straw inclusions. Technical fine tuning was required to create the effect of straw inclusions, while using the underside of coated cardboard made printing more challenging when it comes to guaranteeing mechanical performance.
