Édition Spéciale by LUXE PACK: revving up for 2021

In the run-up to Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK’s second edition, taking place on August 31-September 1st in Paris, organizers have revealed a preview of the show’s conference program. The annual event, focused on sustainable packaging solutions in the luxury space, is set to welcome 65 exhibitors this year, of which 15% are new to the show.

Given the ever-growing importance of sustainable solutions in packaging, Idice, organizer of Paris-based trade show Edition Spéciale by LUXE PACK, is devoting the show again this year to the theme as it did for its premier edition in 2019. “This choice has an even stronger impact this year given the current context and due to the fact that the luxury industry intends to play a major role in the transition to sustainability — a gargantuan challenge,” comments Idice.

The conference program, a key part of the event that will involve leading brands, associations and experts, was built to reflect the fast-changing environment around green packaging and to address the most pertinent issues to date. Here are a few of the talks not to be missed.

  • The Circular Economy as a New Mindset: a roundtable discussion with Positive Luxury (Diana Verde Nieto), Quantis (Dimitri Caudrelier), Citeo (Jean-François Robert) and La Dame à la Licorne (Sylvie Bénard).
  • How Design Serves Sustainability will address designers’ move to place ecological and social challenges at the heart of their creative process. With Diageo (Jeremy Lindley), Guerlain (Cécile Lochard), Coopérative MU (Anthony Boule) and French artist William Amor.
  • E-commerce Packaging: What Levers for Improvement? The panel will investigate how e-commerce packaging is facing up to the sustainable challenge. With Lacoste (Mélanie Pénaud), DHL (Assia Belkhodja), and Hipli (Léa Got).
  • Zero Waste Objective looks at packaging’s potential to be truly sustainable. With Clarins (Guillaume Lascourrèges), TIPA Compostable Packaging (Jean-Pierre Rakoutz), Esprit Gourmand (Marc Gastel) and OÉ (Thomas Lemasle).

These morning conferences will be followed by one-on-one sessions where brands and suppliers speak of their experiences in the area of natural materials, reuse, recycling, lightweighting and other issues surrounding sustainability.

Some 2,000 visitors and 65 exhibitors are expected at the show including newcomers Heinz Glas, Van Genechten Packaging, Chic, Golden Arrow and more. Stay tuned for more previews.
