Édition Spéciale by Luxe Pack publishes White Paper

The driver behind trade show Édition Spéciale by Luxe Pack, held for the first time last June in Paris, was to address the ecological urgency and related challenges facing the luxury packaging industry. Through its conference program—which consisted of debates and experience sharing—and the innovations presented by suppliers, the show plunged visitors into the heart of the issue of eco-designed packaging and more generally into the concept of a circular economy. In order to share the learning from these two days, show organizer Idice (sister entity to Formes de Luxe) compiled the essential contents of the event into a White Paper.Conceived by Alice Audoin, journalist and moderator of the major debates at the show, the report kicks off with a timeline showing the impact of consumption on the planet followed by key figures on climate change. A specific look at packaging’s impact on the issue is presented through several segments including the “Three Rs” trend (reduce, recycle, reuse), bio-plastics, and the controversy surrounding the use of leather. The White Paper concludes on the key issue of communication: "It’s tricky to resist the urge to talk about what, as a company, you are doing in this area. So when is the best time to start communicating?”Accessible to all and free of cost, the White Paper is available in French and English versions. The second edition of Édition Spéciale by Luxe Pack will be held on May 26-27, again at the Carreau du Temple in Paris.
