Trade show EDITION SPECIALE by LUXE PACK is set to give the luxury packaging industry a boost when it opens its doors in Paris on August 31st for the two-day event. Dedicated to sustainability and specifically how brands and suppliers are moving towards greener solutions, the show will feature 65 exhibitors, conferences, start-up pitches and a “sensory materials and sensations” exhibition.
EDITION SPECIALE by LUXE PACK, taking place at the Carreau du Temple in the French capital, will hold its second edition on August 31st and September 1. In keeping with its green theme, sustainable packaging innovations will be on show across a number of luxury sectors: perfumes & cosmetics, wines & spirits, fine foods and fashion & leather goods. Maison Ruinart President Frédéric Dufour will deliver the opening keynote address at the show, detailing the champagne house’s sustainability initiatives, including its Second Skin champagne case. A comprehensive conference program will cover topics including circular economy, e-commerce packaging and sustainable design.
New this year at the show is PITCHES PARTY, where a curated panel of suppliers including Authentic Material and Carbiolice are given the opportunity to pitch their material innovations. These novelties will be on display at the “sensory materials and sensations” exhibition at the event. They include Le Pavé, a material made from plastic waste that comes in the form of plates that can be worked like wood, and Fil&Fab’s Nylo material, a 100% recycled fishing net granulate.
Environmental organization Citeo will be offering personalized consultations to visitors, answering questions around sorting, reuse, recycling and eco-design in luxury packaging. An exhibition by Boutures d’Objets, which uses waste materials to create design objects, textiles and lighting, is also on the agenda. And a series of brand and supplier pairings will present case studies on recent or upcoming projects, with themes including design (Verescence and Bulgari), reuse (Envases and Dior), reduce (Bormioli Luigi and Diptyque) and natural materials (Century Box & La Spiritueuse and Estal & La Maison Pepins).
The 2021 show is set to welcome nearly 2,000 visitors and 65 exhibitors. Some 15% of exhibitors are international newcomers to the event. Gerresheimer, Heinz Glas and Van Genechten Packaging will all exhibit at the show for the first time, alongside returning companies including Arjowiggins, Bormioli Luigi, Diam Pack and Verescence.
