Rouge Premier is luxury brand Dior’s first lipstick to come in a ceramic case. The refillable packaging is decorated with the maison’s iconic Toile de Jouy motif.
Christian Dior Makeup Creative and Image Director Peter Philips took inspiration from haute couture for the creation of the LVMH-owned brand’s new refillable lipstick, Rouge Premier. "Savoir-faire and craftsmanship are the two pillars of Rouge Premier," he said of the lipstick, which is the brand’s debut in a ceramic case.
Dior’s Rouge Premier combines porcelain, metal & 24-carat gold
The case is handmade by French porcelain specialist Bernardaud at its ateliers in Limoges. Crafted in white porcelain, it is the result of a bespoke process created specifically for Dior. According the brand, Rouge Premier’s case called for 15 steps combining manual savoir-faire and technological innovations. It was then fired several times at high temperatures.

Dior's Toile de Jouy motif – one of the iconic codes of the fashion brand’s couture collections – in the Gris Dior shade decorates the pack, which features two metal plates on the top and bottom are coated in 18-carat gold. The lipstick formula itself contains 24-carat-gold particles – a first for Dior -, and is enriched with red hibiscus, known for its skincare properties. Notes of rooibos, bergamot and black tea perfume the bullet. Some 12 lipstick shades are available, from nude to bright red.

Toile de Jouy print also adorns the coffret that houses the lipstick, its refill and a cotton pouch. Dior developed a mirror and a lip brush to accompany the launch: both the oval mirror and the brush handle are made in porcelain by Bernardaud.
