For Chopin’s Organic Rye Vodka, the Polish super-premium brand opted for a stock bottle and a premium, white secondary pack.
The Organic Rye range from Chopin Vodka, produced by family-owned distillery Podlaska Wytwornia Wodek Polmos, is described as having a peppery flavor profile and is distilled to “showcase the complex, spicy flavor” of Polish rye.
The spirit comes in a stock bottle manufactured by Dekorglass at its glassworks acquired in 2019. Sprayed a translucent green, the bottle is screenprinted in two colors.
The secondary pack, designed by paperboard supplier Metsä Board at its Excellence Centre in Äänekoski, Finland, was made by Prost-Key Packaging in Poland. “Purity, whiteness, and simplicity” were key to Chopin Vodka’s brief for the outer packaging – the brand wanted it to be easily recyclable and for it to reflect the vodka’s organic production.
Opting for a more sustainable solution than a rigid box, Metsä Board created a no-glue pack with curved folds on the sides to increase rigidity. The bottle slides into the pack and locks into place with extra support from a front flap, which also serves to hide a security tag on the bottle.
The litho-laminated pack is made of F-flute, with all layers in lightweight MetsäBoard Natural WKL Bright white kraftliner produced at the supplier’s Husum mill. It is printed in black and green and features a water-based varnish. The brand story is printed in two languages on the back of the pack, while the mention “organic” is embossed.
