Ceramic and silk: The Different Company’s new perfumed ribbons

Tapping into the trend for alternate ways of wearing fragrance, niche player The Different Company is launching a collection of scented ribbons that can be worn myriad ways.

French indie fragrance house The Different Company opted for 100% made-in-France production for its latest scented accessories that consist of a ceramic piece attached to a silk ribbon.

The scented ceramic (Les Parfumables) is engraved on the underside with The Different Company’s logo and impregnated with a perfume concentrate said to guarantee perfect restitution for between one and three months depending on the scent. Currently, some three fragrances are available in this format: AlSahra, MajaïnaSin and Tokyo Bloom. Customers can add a second ceramic to the ribbon to intensify the scent or to layer two different perfumes.

The ceramic is threaded onto silk twill, produced by Atelier Boivin, Paris’ one remaining workshop specialized in handmade silk accessories. Positioned as unisex, the ribbons can be worn around the wrist, neck or in the hair and come in 10 different styles ranging from block colors to print motifs. The scented ribbons launched this month and retail at €25 (ceramic piece and ribbon), while the ceramic piece on its own costs €10.
