Portuguese winery Casa do Canto is gearing up to launch its limited-edition Baga Clássico 2018 wine next year. The bottle is adorned with a copper label, whose design is evocative of crossword puzzles.
For its Baga Clássico 2018 wine, Casa do Canto called on M&A Creative Agency to come up with the packaging design. The sleek bottle is adorned with a copper-printed and embossed label from Signet Branding’s Marque aluminum range.
“This irreverent packaging offers consumers a unique visual and tactile experience, leading them to discover the 'crosswords' in which characteristics of the wine are described, such as 'Terroir'," M&A Creative Agency CEO Luis Marques tells Luxe Packaging Insight. "Designed to be developed in copper, the artwork enhances the high and low embossing of the graphic elements, giving volume and tactile sense to the selected information.”
The bottle is nestled in a box (Formocaixa) made of Valchromat wood and decorated with copper stamping. A leather handle allows for easy transport. “Several prototypes were made before settling on the final design; we had to make sure that the bottle could be well placed without damaging the top wax,” explains Marques.
Just 1,500 bottles of Baga Clássico 2018 will be available, launching in March 2022.
