Bottle (Fragrance & Cosmetics): Neandertal them/us/dark/light

©

Brand: Neandertal
Supplier: Pavisa

Shaped like a prehistoric stone tool, the bottle was designed to replicate the surface of knapped flint. The organic shape called for significant efforts to make it a “safe consumer product” and to allow for smooth demolding. The fact that the bottle is designed to lay flat and not upright meant significant constraints in terms of the semi-automatic glassmaking process.

What’s innovative: Translating the look and feel of knapped flint onto glass; the organic shape, complex demolding.

What’s green: N/A
