French niche brand J.U.S has expanded its Joyaux Sensoriels fragrance line with the launch of Bloomastral. The solar floral “parfum” comes in a blue, partially lacquered flacon.
Bloomastral is the latest addition to J.U.S’ Joyaux Sensoriels fragrance collection. Designed by brand co-founder Thierry de Baschmakoff, the refillable bottles take their cues from 1950s and 60s aesthetics and are lacquered in opaque, matte pop colors.
Bloomastral’s flacon is the work of Zignago Brosse; with “made-in-France” central to the brand’s concept, J.U.S transferred the production of its flacons from Saverglass to Brosse when the former’s flaconnage activity was sold to German glassmaker Heinz, J.U.S co-founder Jean-Baptiste Roux tells Luxe Packaging Insight. The bottles for J.U.S.’ Joyau Unique collection are made by Waltersperger using vintage molds and semi-automatic production.
Bloomastral’s cylindrical, curved flacon sports a blue, partial lacquer (Nigermat). A subtle gold metallic stud (Martineau) adorns the facing, while the bottle is topped with a thermoset resin cap (Technicaps) with a white and gold label on top.
The fragrance comes in a cylindrical cardboard canister (Spinnler) that is offset printed and hot stamped gold.
Created by Alexandra Carlin (Symrise), Bloomastral is a solar floral scent inspired by night-blooming jasmine (Cestrum nocturnum) – a “source of fascination” for the perfumer as it is not possible to extract the perfume from the flower in its natural state. Bloomstral blends notes of Jasminum grandiflorum, osmanthus and sandalwood.
"At J.U.S. we call all our juices "Parfum". We prefer to talk about the quality of our ingredients rather than concentration,” concludes Roux. “This is one of the reasons why our formulas are open source and freely available on our website."
Bloomastral retails at €50 for 25ml and €180 for 100ml. The 200ml refill costs €230.
