Bladnoch Distillery introduces its 30-year-old whisky expression

Scotland’s Bladnoch Distillery has unveiled a 30-year-old single malt whisky, the earliest expression the distillery has released to date.

Bladnoch Distillery, one of the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries in Scotland, is launching the rarest whisky ever released since Australian entrepreneur David Prior took ownership of the company in 2015. The Bladnoch 30-year-old comes in a bespoke flat-sided bottle (Saverglass) with square shoulders and a thick base. Melbourne-based creative agency Chimera Design Studio oversaw the branding and packaging design.

The bottle’s two labels (The Label Makers) are printed on a premium textured paper with accents of gold hot stamping, while the logo and the spirit’s age are hot stamped in royal blue.

An intricately decorated, 280g natural cork and metal stopper (Cedar Packaging) - a mixture of brass and zinc alloy - tops the bottle. The brand logo is engraved on its top and sides, while the surface features a gold brass finish.

The bottle is housed in a bespoke coffret (Cedar Packaging), made of 15mm MDF with black walnut veneer. Sheathed in faux leather, brown for the exterior and blue for the interior, the coffret features a brass and gold finish metal handle covered in leather. An embossed leather tag hangs off the handle. For the leather parts of the coffret, the brand combined debossing and gold foiling, while the brand logo is engraved directly on the wood. A hand-applied adhesive label (Cedar Packaging) seals the coffret.

Bladnoch 30-year-old expression will be limited to 950 bottles priced at $1,220.
