Baralan: DEA, new Airless Packaging Solution in Glass

Marrying quality through functionality and sustainability, Baralan’s new DEA series is the first airless system where the product is directly in contact with the glass. This aesthetic and sustainable innovation solution foreshadows the future of beauty.

Baralan, a consolidated player in primary packaging for the cosmetics and beauty industries, has introduced DEA – which stands for Developing the Evolution of Airless – a new series of products composed of glass airless containers designed for several applications. Unlike other airless systems, DEA has no internal plastic container, making it the first airless system in which the filled product is in direct contact with its glass container.

New sustainable packaging philosophy

As a sustainable solution, the DEA series illustrates a new philosophy of primary glass packaging, which uses fewer components and significantly reduces the amount of overall materials. The result is a much lighter and more functional packaging, that still offers impact to brands with a new level of user experience. The airless nature helps better preserve the integrity of the product ingredients, is suitable for different usages and is extremely versatile in application.

The DEA series is available in two versions: classic and premium, with the possibility of having single-use or refillable solutions for the glass container. A unique concept, the refillable version makes it easy to replace the glass container and reuse the components. Separating components quickly and easily provides new opportunities to improve product lifecycle – embracing sustainability and eco-consciousness in packaging.

High-quality glass and aesthetic appeal

Additionally, DEA features high-quality glass packaging that provides further aesthetic appeal. The DEA series is available in three nominal capacities: 15ml, 30ml and 50ml. Its standard GPI 18/400 neck finish, combined with the airless system, is compatible with a wide range of pumps. This allows for increased modularity for different sets, high levels of product customization, as well as decoration techniques. In addition, glass is also renowned for its compatibility with the product formula. In each version, the transparency of the material allows the product to be visible, allowing for a greater level of authenticity.

And last, but not the least, DEA uses no lubricants, and its innovative manufacturing process dramatically reduces energy consumption for a more sustainable approach to the future of beauty.
