Promising the look of metal without calling for metallic pigments, Auressens’ patented decoration technology offers new options for luxury packaging.
French deeptech start-up Auressens’ decoration technology is designed to create a lustrous metal effect without the use of metal thanks to its patented ‘smart’ organic pigments. Metallic shades from gold and copper to magenta, pink and green can be achieved, as well as glitter, mirrored, iridescent and dichroic effects.
The colored coatings can be applied to various materials including glass, ceramics, plastic, wood or cardboard; the particles “self-organize” following surface deposition to create a metallic effect.
When applied on glass, for example, the effects obtained differ depending on whether the material is transparent, black or frosted. Auressens’ technology can be applied via lacquering for glass; the company is also exploring screenprinting, along with offset printing for cardboard.
