ATS' acquisition of DOOGOOD

Doogood's Ritual Multi Bottle Crown Night for Moët Hennessy

French luxury packaging group ATS has purchased DOOGOOD, a specialist in plastic injection and light solutions geared to the premium drinks sector. Revealed today exclusively on formesdeluxe.com, the deal was finalized in June 2023.

With its acquisition of DOOGOOD, a Paris-based multi-material packaging supplier for the wine and spirits market founded in 2013, luxury packaging and POSM group ATS is bringing new areas of expertise in-house. "This operation will grow our scope of expertise enabling us to offer our luxury clients a wider range of solutions," Olivier Finaz, CEO of ATS, tells Formes de Luxe. ATS now owns 100% of the supplier, while DOOGOOD's shareholders have acquired a stake in ATS.

"The synergies go both ways: at DOOGOOD we were looking for a partner who could ensure our growth and perennity, while ATS is gaining savoir-faire in the area of connected objets and light solutions," remarks Bruno Clamens, Founder of DOOGOOD.

Moët Hennessy was key to the deal

The deal is also a smart strategic fit as both ATS and DOOGOOD share a common client: "Our partnership will allow us to offer a more extensive and tailored palette of savoir faire to our historic client, Moët Hennessy." notes Finaz. "And of course, our aim is to deploy DOOGOOD’s areas of expertise to our existing client portfolio. We’re opening up new horizons!"

Along with the obvious synergies from a business perspective, the deal is also about having a common vision, says Finaz. "The human connection is the starting point for any acquisition; we need common values before we move ahead. We found that connection with Bruno and his team".

DOOGOOD’s manufacturing is based in China. While ATS outsources a portion of its production in Asia, its French site, l’Atelier Luxe at La Tour-du-Pin near Lyon is specialized in bespoke luxury packaging projects.

DOOGOOD took home a Formes de Luxe Award for best Communication Tool in 2021 with its Veuve Clicquot Vasque TV and in 2022 for the Ritual Multi Bottle Crown Night for Moët & Chandon. ATS is in the running for a 2023 prize with two entries: for Hennessy (pictured above), and for Van Cleef & Arpels in the Fine Craftsmanship category, a newcomer to the annual luxury packaging competition this year.
